The Soviet Union falls after decades of putting
money into military to compete with US and
coddling their citizen into docile idiocy with
inept paternalistic policies.
They are bankrupt, morally and financially.
The final straw credited to the Reagan star wars bluff, but given far too much credit.
It was years in the making.
So the Wall falls, the Union breaks up.
What do the Republicans in charge in US do (reagan and bush1)
Instead of helping them get to a distributive democracy.
they encourage the oligarchy binge where powerful players grab big big chunks of the economic engine.
Oil, trains, mining, coal, munitions, aeronautics what ever was big, some key player grabbed it.
Republicans, by nature are so pro big buisness and the control that brings, so they either encourage it or passively accept this.
Benign Neglect once again. They let it slide. Lose the ball.
What happens? Rich get richer - and unbelievably so. Poor get poorer.
Poor Russian schlubs know no difference between corrupt communism and corrupt capitalism
There is no encouragement for entrepreneurial development.
A foreign idea to the Russian psyche.
(Unlike China where centuries of entrepreneurial DNA was released like a champagne pop)
Then the oil thing, and with Russia having huge deposits it almost becomes a one industry nation.
Money pours in to the oil barrons.
(Like the Arab countries - one big income, and no jobs for anyone - except radical religious studies.)
Rest of country sucks and struggles.
Putin clandestinely grabs power everywhere, eliminates opposition.
Putin is now considered one of the RICHEST MEN IN THE WORLD - $40 billion or something. He has great despise for inept idiots of the west.
Privately things W is moron and obnoxious. Bristles contemptuously from ideas of the neo-cons.
Uses arrogance of western leadership to shore and build his home support.
Bush is best thing that happened to Putin.
McCain / Palin / Putin will keep making him even richer.
He knows which buttons to push to get McCain erratic and reactionary.
And really, you must go back and see Palin talk to Kouric about Russia and the Bail out
Putin must be laughing his ass off on YouTube.
To think that Americans are even considering such folly, only brings him joy.
