NUMBERS
When Bush/Republicans took over in the year 2000 they inherited a $350,000,000,000 ($350 billion) budget/surplus left by the previous administration (Clinton/Democrats).
We now have a budget/deficit of over $400,000,000,000 ($400 billion).
Yet at the same time the Bush/Republicans lowered taxes on the top 5% of Americans.

We are now facing a $700,000,000,000 ($700 billion) bailout of the ‘un’regulated Wall Street and financial brokerage companies.

We were told 5 of the greatest lies in American history as our reasons to invade IRAQ.
1. IRAQ was an immediate threat to the United States – FALSE
2. IRAQ was responsible for the 9/11 attacks – FALSE
3. IRAQ had weapons of mass destruction – FALSE
4. IRAQ had a stockpile of deadly nerve gas - FALSE
5. IRAQ was importing nuclear yellow cake from Africa – FALSE

The 16 terrorists that attacked us on 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia and had no connection to IRAQ or Saddam Hussein.
And yet the Bush/Republicans invaded IRAQ anyway. The results:
Over 4,000 American solders killed.
Over 30,000 American solders seriously wounded.
Over 150,000 innocent Iraqi men, women and children killed.
Note: Osama Bin Laden is alive and well in the mountains of Afghanistan/Pakistan.

In 2003, Bush landed on the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln and declared “mission accomplished.” Since then, 3,924 American solders have been killed and we have spent hundreds of billions of dollars.
And we are still there spending and dying.

When the Bush/Republicans started the war in Iraq they told the American people it would cost $30,000,000,000 ($30 billion) and the war would be over in weeks or a fewmonths at the most. So far the war in Iraq has cost the American people$557,000,000,000 ($557 billion) and we are still there 6 years later.
It is estimated that the long term cost of the war in Iraq will be $3,000,000,000,000 ($3 trillion).

Eight years ago America was respected and admired around the globe. Today, of the 192 Members States of the United Nations only the citizens of one country approves of our foreign policy (Israel).
Eight years ago there were 34.6 million Americans living below the poverty line. Today there are up to 37.3 million living below the poverty line (2.7 million increase).
Eight years ago 43.6 million Americans were without health insurance. Today there are 47 million Americans without health insurance (3.4 million increase).

Since George Bush became President in 2001, the top five oil companies in the United States have recorded profits of $464,000,000,000 ($464 billion) through the first quarter of 2007.
By the close of the 2nd quarter in 2008, Exxon Mobil earned record breaking profits of $11,680,000,000 ($11.68 billion). This is the biggest profit from operations EVER by a U.S. corporation.
