Newt Gingrich: Sarah Palin SNL Skits "Slander," CNN Owes Palin Apology
Wow. "I'm Not But You Are" Can you believe this? Newt Gingrich is for attacking satire of SNL litigiously. No humor allowed. Then he complains that the standard operating procedure of the FOX agenda is not a good idea when used against his team. And it was John McCain who put Joe the Plumber on center stage. Sometimes when he is not spinning Gingrich can be thoughtful in analysis, but when he is in the spin he is horrendous. This is spin. Big Spin.

When I hear wild accusations about someone from the other side, I want to believe them sometimes myself just to simplify and bolster my own support. Alas, I have doubts about extreme statements form any side. I like to check multiple sources of all stripes to make conclusions. This woman seems to have the FOX logo burned into her TV screen. And her sources seem one sided and narrow. Paranoia and fear the main modus operandi of her nutcase knowledge base. She and Baughman. Easy to see why without any proof or investigation nor even the slightest query, they can take one look at The Sarah and determine; "She is one of us" No questions asked.

Why McCain Has Lost Our Vote
The graciousness and good sense of grandfather Barry has been passed to his progeny. I grew to respect that Goldwater integrity as time went on after his run for the presidency. Like the Buckley family, rigorous intellectualism and the more libertarian approach has been the hallmark of the old school Conservatives. The Republican party of old used to make good points when opposing "rampant liberalism". They were the Loyal Opposition. They have since lost there way. The new GOP has made us an enemy. They made a deal at the Crossroads and sold their soul. The Goldwaters! Great. Good for them.

Maybe if Dick Cheney elevated such a conversation to Senate floor. I am sure McCain has never hurled one ( that was sarcasm) Aren't we a delicate one to be playing serious beanbag? Jon Stewart is a genius at pointing out the hypocrisy of the self righteous. And again I am reminded that Republicans - especially conservative ones, do not have a sense of humor. They do not get satire either. Just don't get it. Republican humor is laughing at your lessors and have-nots. Democratic humor is poking fun at the pompous and those in charge.

Alaskan Independence Party: The Last Refuge of a Scoundrel
There is a reason certain people go away to live up in Alaska. Part of it is the pioneer spirit, of course. Alaska is the Last Frontier, state-wise. Part of it is that they just don't like any of us down here in the "Lower 48". Just that type of reference about us separates them from us mentally and emotionally as much as hundreds of miles of Canadadian timber wood does. This is as far as you can run away from America and still be under it's protective wing. Where the air of the Wild Wild West still lingers and where you can build your own log cabin with an axe and snark out "to hell with the rest o' them" Nope. They just don't like us flat landers and city slickers. They want to be professional outsiders instead. Some of them even wanted to break away from the union. Did not even want to be part of the United States of America anymore. Some of them. They are tough, though. To live in the biting bitter cold of a seemingly unending dark winter there must be the test you must pass in order to stay. Sunlight deprivation has sometimes serious emotional consequences for some. Makes 'em kinda nutty....

Palin's evangelistic hatred revivals remind me of the 1960's film "Elmer Gantry". A Sinclair Lewis story. I urge you to check YouTube for the Elmer Gantry movie trailer. (under 'Rapture') The story synopsis has a familiar ring and the crowd scenes look like Palin's audience. Maybe she really is trying to bring about the End of Days. My last comment on this tonight. My brother and his wife listened on the radio. They thought she was vacuous and repetitive and Biden was substantive and assured. But on television I saw her as although wrong, being very confident about herself. This is like what they say about the famous Kennedy / Nixon debates. Radio listeners thought Nixon won, television viewers thought Kennedy won. And as I said before, the race goes on. Double up our efforts, and watch your language. Good manners can win some over and rudeness can scare them away. Carry on.

Traditional Republicans, the fiscal ones, not the Creationists and lipstickers, must be in total anguish. Along with the fiscally responsible, deficit-hawk Democrats who remember the wonderful Surplus the Clinton administration left behind. These new Republicans that is the Bush camp love to run the deficit so high that our grandchildren will be paying the bill off into their old age. And why? So that in order to pay off this giant debt we will have to slash all social programs, all health care programs, all aid and assistance to the lesser and the weaker and the unfortunates. The war was doing this part rather well for them. But now, one more chance to DOUBLE DOWN before vacating the WH. Twice the money in half the time. YES, something MUST be done. But not in 24 hours. Take your time. Do this right - not right wing. No Golden Parachutes, no blank checks, No Paulson Sole Decider. And please, help out those with mortgage problems. Fix it, don't Fleece it.

Also the Vice Presidency has become even more powerful that the Presidency in many respects.
